RevoDx HIV-1 qPCR Kit
Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) belongs to the Retroviridae family, specifically the Lentivirus genus, and has a single-stranded, positive-sense RNA genome of about 9.7 kb. Each HIV particle contains two RNA strands, each encoding nine genes. These RNA strands are encased in a cone-shaped capsid with roughly 2000 p24 protein copies, surrounded by a lipid envelope derived from the host cell’s membrane, which also retains host-cell proteins like MHC antigens.
The viral envelope contains a glycoprotein complex with gp120 (outer protein) and gp41 (transmembrane anchor), both highly variable, especially in regions like V3, where changes affect coreceptor binding and contribute to HIV’s antigenic diversity. HIV-1 is divided into three groups: M (Main), the most widespread globally; O (Outlier), mostly in Africa; and N (non-M, non-O), isolated in Cameroon.

RevoDx HIV-1 qPCR Kit is an in vitro nucleic acid amplification test for quantification of Human Immunodeficiency virus type 1 (HIV-1) RNA in human serum or plasma (EDTA)

- The Limit of Detection (LoD) value is 50 IU/mL
- Linear range is between 55 IU/mL and 1 x 109 IU/mL

- Can detect and quantify all subtypes of HIV-1 M group and Circulating Recombinant Forms

Intended Use
RevoDx HIV-1 qPCR Kit is a real-time PCR test intended for the qualitative detection of Human Immunodeficiency virus type 1 (HIV-1) RNA.
