RevoDx HIV-1/2 qPCR Kit (Qualitative)
HIV is a virus that can lead to AIDS, a condition in which the body’s immune system is damaged and cannot fight off infections. In the United States, HIV is spread primarily by sexual contact, contaminated needles, childbirth, and breastfeeding.
HIV-1 and HIV-2 are the two types of human immunodeficiency virus that have been characterized to date. Both viruses have been found in patients with AIDS. HIV-2 is less common than HIV-1 but still very dangerous. Though it primarily affects people living in western Africa, it is spreading slowly but steadily in areas such as Europe, Asia and America.
Early diagnosis allows people with HIV to start treatment right away, when they may benefit most from regular visits with a provider. HIV testing gives all people information about their risk so they can protect themselves.

RevoDx HIV-1/2 qPCR Kit is a real-time PCR test intended for the qualitative detection of Human Immunodeficiency virus type 1 and type 2 (HIV-1/2) RNA.
