Viral Meningitis/Encephalitis Pathogen Detection Kit
Infections of the nervous system are potentially life-threatening and are caused by pathogens, such as bacteria,viruses, and fungi. Prompt recognition and treatment of a central nervous system (CNS) infection is crucial for patient survival, as these infections have a high morbidity and mortality. CNS infections include meningitis, encephalitis, and brain abscesses. Early recognition of causative pathogens is critical for the appropriate management of central nervous system infection and improved outcomes. Delays in the diagnosis and treatment of bacterial meningitis and HSV meningoencephalitis are associated with morbidity and mortality. Conversely, unnecessary antimicrobial treatment and hospitalization can be associated with the selection of antimicrobial resistance, dysbiosis, and increased health care costs.
