RevoDx HSV-1/2 qPCR Kit

Herpes is an infection with herpes simplex virus, known as HSV-1 or HSV-2. Both are common globally. Type 1 (HSV-1) is typically transmitted by oral-to-oral contact and causes infection in or around the mouth (oral herpes), but it can also cause genital herpes. HSV-2 is the cause of most genital herpes cases. This virus is transmitted during skin-to-skin contact with a person who has an active infection. HSV-2 genital herpes can spread from one partner to another even when no symptoms (blisters) are present. Early diagnosis allows people with herpes simplex virus (HSV) to start treatment right away. That reduces the risk of spreading the virus to other people, and helps calm any outbreak. .

RevoDx HSV-1/2 qPCR Kit is a real-time PCR test intended for the qualitative detection of Herpes Simplex Virus 1 and Herpes Simplex Virus 2 DNA.
